Freelance product Designer:

We are seeking a passionate and creative product designer to join our team and help us expand our product offerings. This position will initially be a flat-fee per product and product profit-share position with the opportunity to become a full-time position as business needs permit. You’ll have the opportunity to create both “hard-goods” like roads, equipment, and mechanical items as well as “soft-goods” like animals, people, and clothing. We want you to have creative freedom where applicable in your designs and we are always open to suggestions if you think it would fit within our product catalogue.

Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate-to-scale 3D models of real life subjects

  • Provide appropriate file formats for product manufacturing

  • Provide renderings for product packaging purposes

  • Tweak designs as needed to remedy emergent product manufacturing issues

Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of photogrammetry to create a 3D product from images and minimal dimensions

  • Good functional product design tennants

  • An understanding of 3D printing, chemical etching, and papercraft; or a willingness to learn the processes and their impacts on design

  • A willingness to learn scale-modeling techniques and kit assembly

  • Prior scale-modeling experience a plus
