Finished Work Critique and Consultation
A genuine and honest critique from Through A Smaller Lens, complete with what you did well on your model, areas you could improve on, and what’s holding your model back.
The process is simple; after purchasing your consultation, a member of our staff will reach out to you via email requesting photos of your finished works and get your photos in front of Through A Smaller Lens for critique. He’ll write a detailed explanation about your model, or the sub-components of your diorama and the entire diorama as a whole, providing areas you could improve on complete with suggestions of how to improve on them. He’ll also point out the areas that could be holding your model back, things that detract from making the model look real or professionally finished.
Each critique is approximately 4,000 words of feedback about your scale model.
Be prepared to hear honest feedback. You can’t improve on your models if you do not have honest feedback and advice on how to improve!
Each critique is complete with an International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) score, allowing you to gauge how you’d stack up in an IPMS competition.
Feel free to submit as many photos as you think necessary for your critique, but please only submit photos of one work (a complete diorama with multiple subjects counts as one work). If you submit more than one finished work, we will pick one work to critique.
Please allow 48 hours for us to contact you for your photos and one week from delivery of your photos for Through A Smaller Lens to write his critique. We’ll let you know if critique volumes are high when we reach out and any associated delays. Your critique will be e-mailed to the email you submitted your photos from in PDF format.
